The 2008 TD Canada Trust Vancouver International Jazz Festival proudly presents Herbie Hancock, live in concert. Hancock is a genuine icon of modern music. Few other musicians have exhibited the wide range of interest and mastery that this jazz legend has brought to his remarkable body of work. Embracing elements of rock, soul, funk and electonica with freer stylistic elements of jazz, Hancock has defied tradition during a 50-year career creating music that expands the possibilities of musical thought.

The 2008 TD Canada Trust Vancouver International Jazz Festival proudly presents Portland, Oregon's Pink Martini. This exciting 13-piece band falls somewhere between a 1930’s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical music ensemble, a Brazilian marching street band and Japanese film noir. Part language lesson, part Hollywood musical, Pink Martini continues to draw huge and wildly diverse audiences to its multi-lingual repertoire.
