The historic Yale Hotel presents a night of outstanding Aboriginal music on Thursday, September 25, in order to benefit the Aboriginal Mother Centre Society (AMCS) of Vancouver. The AMCS of Vancouver is a non-profit charitable organization established in 2001, which provides services to Aboriginal mothers and their families on Vancouver’s East Side. These services include a meal program, counseling, parenting skills, life skills training, education, job readiness, and various wellness workshops.
An outstanding line-up of contemporary bands including the Coyes-Thomson Band featuring Jason Burnstick and Gillian Thomson (www.myspace.com/thecoyesthomsonband), Bitterly Devine (www.myspace.com/bitterlydivine), Helen Duguay (http://members.shaw.ca/helenduguay), and Dalannah Gail Bowen (www.dalannahgailbowen.com) awaits audiences, in addition to a raffle draw for an exclusive set of gold earrings hand-crafted by famed Haida artist and carver James McGuire.
Admission to Aboriginal Benefit Night is $20 at the door. Doors open at 8pm. Show time begins at 9pm. Partial proceeds will go to the AMCS of Vancouver.
