THIS WEEK: Carol Burnett at the Orpheum
The Legend Returns!
Laughter and Reflection with Carol Burnett:
A Conversation with Carol where the Audience
Asks Questions
Thursday, Sep 24, 2009 8pm
Orpheum Theatre
The VSO and Global ComedyFest are proud to present a very special evening with legendary and beloved entertainer Carol Burnett. The evening with Ms. Burnett last season was extraordinary, with a sold-out house and multiple standing ovations — the demand for this legendary performer's return has been overwhelming.
As a weekly visitor in America's living rooms, Carol Burnett always opened her show with a few minutes of hilarious banter with the audience. LAUGHTER AND REFLECTION: A CONVERSATION WITH CAROL WHERE THE AUDIENCE ASKS THE QUESTIONS is a rare opportunity to talk to Carol in the same enjoyable and intimate audience-interactive format. Carol says, "I love the spontaneity of these evenings. I never know what anybody is going to say or do or ask." Come with your questions and share in the fun with one of America's most loved and respected performers.
Carol Burnett is a true living legend in entertainment — an actress, comedian, singer, dancer, and writer who spent an acclaimed eleven year run on the groundbreaking Carol Burnett Show, which aired on CBS Television from 1967 to 1978. A six-time Emmy Award-winner, in 2003 Ms. Burnett was a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors, and in 2005 received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Some of her other notable awards include five Golden Globes, the Peabody Award for "Friendly Fire", and the Ace Award for "Between Friends" with Elizabeth Taylor. She has enjoyed the kind of career that most performers only dream of, moving easily from the stage to television to feature films.
ONE VERY SPECIAL NIGHT ONLY!

September in Italy
Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver is bringing the world to YEW. Each month YEW restaurant + bar takes flight with a No Passport Required three course menu showcasing the tantalizing tastes of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts from around the world. A global tasting for $35.
September's menu features Italy and Four Seasons Hotel Firenze. An enchanted city sanctuary in the midst of Florence, where an art-filled Renaissance palazzo and conventino frame a centuries-old private park. To celebrate this extraordinary region, YEW has ordered a select shipment of Antinori's Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Chianti Classico region in the heart of Tuscany. This Olive Oil pays tribute to the richness of the Chianti countryside and its 100-year old traditions of agriculture, wine-growing and producing. This experience can only be found at one location in North America... tableside at YEW.
The three course menu features the sumptuous flavors from all over Italy. Link here to view the menu.
