Red Carpet Hotness at the Junos - See the stars.

What’s up Vancouver? We’re a week away from Juno Weekend! Have to be honest – last year Calgary LIT IT UP. Can you top it? For once, just once, as a dress rehearsal for the Olympics, shake off that infamous Vancouver apathy and come celebrate Canadian music in our city.

eTalk will be live on the red carpet at GM Place next Sunday for the arrivals – Sarah McLachlan, Michael Buble, Nickelback, Elvis Costello (ELVIS COSTELLO!!!), and…um… some surprises too. Suffice to say – there will be screaming.

Want to join us? Fans on the red carpet also have a chance of winning free tickets to see the Juno Awards! Last year on the red carpet I gave away a cute little clutch to the first person to yell out Granny Freeze. This year… also an amazing prize. Will tell you about it next week. For now… you must get there. To reserve your spot on the red carpet, email junoredcarpet@ctv.ca or call 1-866-460-4797.

__________________________________

Totally true. It will be a weekend to remember so get your butt out there next weekend and enjoy some live music. Don't forget to reserve your spot on the red carpet with the info above.

H&M Spring 2009 Magazine

H&M recently put out their free spring 2009 catalogue, highlighting the newest trends, colors, and clothes for spring. Pick up your copy at the point of sales (cashier).

I found a couple looks I liked – others, not so much. Although I’m not a huge fan of animal prints I found this cute black and white mini dress; it looks more like a cool graphic print rather than Zebra stripes:

I especially liked this look – a high-waisted colored pencil skirt and a black scoop neck tee. The black suede pumps and the black patent belt just add the finishing touches.

Sorbet pink is one of their signature colors for spring so if you don’t like the skirt you can always pick up another style in the same color.

Stop by one of their stores to pick up the magazine and take a look for yourself, or you can visit their website www.hm.com.

Commodore Ballroom – March 2009 Events

The Commodore Ballroom is possibly the best venue for concerts in Vancouver - 19+, you can drink, a large enough area so you can either mosh/dance (I prefer to dance...), and it’s small enough that you can get up close and personal to the acts.

The only concert I’ve been to at the Commodore is GWAR – and I went twice with my boyfriend. For all you skeptics/haters out there it’s possibly the most fun concert I’ve ever been to and it’s pretty hard to beat getting soaked with dye and jumping around screaming...seriously, put GWAR on your list of next concerts to go to…

Even if that’s not your thing check out the following listings for upcoming performances in March:

Wednesday March 18th
9:15 p.m. Lady Gaga – SOLD OUT

Thursday March 26th
9:30 p.m. Thornley with guests Armchair Cynics - Presented by 99.3 The Fox

Saturday March 28th
9:30 p.m. An Evening with 54-40 and Friends

Sunday March 29th
2:00 p.m. Marianas Trench

Monday March 30th
7:30 p.m. Rockstar Taste of Chaos

Luck O’ the Irish…

Just in time for St. Patty’s day I’ve decided to search Granville Street for everything green so when March 17th rolls around, you’ll be ready to get your Irish on and maybe get lucky.

American Apparel (872 Granville Street) has tons of clothes in varying degrees of green (some a little TOO green like the fluorescent lime color I spotted), but here are some possible choices:

The “Le Sac” Dress: obviously just a “sac” of material but it’s versatile and you can switch it up for cool styles like this strapless dress in evergreen:

Or, take a look at their cotton jersey bandeau pencil dress:

And, if you aren’t a big dress person consider pulling it up and wearing it as a top. This might be a good idea considering it doesn’t look too long - you don't want to be flashing anyone your Britney on St. Patty's day. For more choices and inspiration stop by the store.

Check out Urban Outfitters (830 Granville Street). You might have to hunt a bit harder for something green but you're bound to get something a bit different - not just a plain tank or shirt.

Save some green bucks to spend on green beer...

Claire’s (762 Granville Street) for some flashy and/or tacky green jewelry & accessories. Right now they’re having a sale, 20-50% off, and if you’re a last minute kind of gal stop by on St. Patrick’s day – the entire stock is buy 1 get 1 50% off.

H&M (609 Granville Street) - Britain’s favorite store and now Vancouver’s too… Again, you can pick up some cheap accessories to green up your outfit come this St. Patty’s day.

Winners (798 Granville) – you need to be a serious bargain hunter to find cute stuff amid the frumpy, old lady stuff there but it is possible. I usually just bypass the clothes and head straight for the bags and shoes section. It's a bargain hunter's paradise, no?

Hair Raising Deals and Ethical Pricing...

Guest Blogger: JC

We all know that hair products can be expensive. While I buy Herbal Essences at Shoppers for $5.00, I know it’s terrible for my not-so-luscious locks but it’s just so cheap… However, Zennkai has a remedy for this and it’s called ethical pricing.

So, if you are looking to replenish those locks stop by Zennkai for great deals on hair products and a chance to win a $100.00 gift card and a product basket worth $50.00. For more info check out www.zennkai.com
