Pump up the Jam...

Because it's Friday.. and snowing.... I need a pick me up. Don't you?

Brings back memories... Grade 7, teased and hairsprayed bangs/spiral perm (Anyone ever get a perm without regretting it later? I have years of perms, a self imposed fro that rivals CarrotTop... It will haunt me forever :( ) , Hammer pants (purple silk no less) at a sock hop. I busted out the moves hard... A one hour event, the girls would mingle and giggle for 45 mins on one side, until someone got enough guts to get the dance started. 15 mins of PUMP UP THE JAM BLISS.

5th person to tell me a memory related to that song will get a shopgranville reuseable cloth shopping bag + $50 surprise gift certificate. Entries should have the subject line "Pump Up the Jam" and be emailed to shopgranville@shopgranville.ca.

Not me.. but bad enough to be close. "The Look" is charming in a Will Farrellesque way. -------->

PS. Yer dancing right now aren't you... I know you wanna.. Don't. Lie.

Wall O Shoes

Guest Blogger: Jana

Every girl loves a shoes sale, and this one is a goodie.

Sterling currently has an entire WALL O' SHOES from Nine West, Guess, Roberto Vianni, and Jessica Simpson at 50% off. Also spotted a variety of purses on sale. My personal fav: Matt&Nat, Jorja Fox in Brown, on sale for $99.99. Bought It. Love it.. Ivy loves the Jorja Fox in Silver. Your thoughts?

Sweet Jeans and Sweet Skirts...

Guest Blogger: Jana

I was psyched to see Parasuco's 2007 woman’s blue jean collection at 50-70% of the original price. Ladies, that is a steal! If you don’t care that they are last of the line, you are so close to a great pair of jeans at a smoking price (which btw are priceless!)

Also while I was there I spotted some woman’s blue jeans marked down to $39.99 located at the front of the shop. If you’re looking for flare or narrow, dark, faded black or blue that deal is for you.

Gorgeous corduroy mini skirts in a variety of colors including classic black, caramel and tan going for $19.99. A cute little mini skirt at such a great price would be perfect to wear come spring time.

- J.

Note: The last of their seasonal stuff is about to be shipped to other stores. Go soon before its all sent away! It's all on sale.. but only until Monday. - Ivy

Eco Outdoor Winter Sale

Also worth taking a boo at Eco Outdoor. Their outerwear in the winter collection is 30% off. The usual suspects: Burton, Columbia, Reef, Salomon and more.

Spy optic glasses have a very special 30% off sale.

Bedo's new line is Shmexy!

Ahhh Bedo, how I love thee. The new line is in and it's gorgeous. Lots of vibrant jewel tones: Orange, Purple, Blue... but have no fear. These aren't your mom's jewel tones. The look is hip and clean (hurray!).

It's all still full price, alas... but you can check out the sweaters, jackets and sequinned tanks at the back which are up to 70% off.

Winter at Helly Hansen, Calling all snow bunnies and bucks!

(W Freyja, Reg. $150, on sale for $120 in white)

Helly Hansen is having a 10-40% off sale on their winter wear. Just in time to gussy you up for Spring Break at Whistler. Plenty of winter stock to choose from. Also, buy one pair of shoes, get your second one 50% off the already reduced sale price. (Think 20% off each pair of shoes, then an additional 50% off the second pair... sweetness! *)

* something along those lines, depending on what you pick.

Urban Mobility at Puma

It's just too good! Too delish... but I have to share! Have you seen the Urban Mobility line at Puma? Designed to simplify life in urban environments, the line is chic, contemporary and well crafted. Consider this hot X-ray belt (seen above). No metal parts make it the perfect belt to wear on flights. No need to take it off for scanning. The belt buckle is made of wood and slides in with a heavy duty plastic notch. Attractive and smart. $74.99

I also love the tote (Retail: $239.99). The bag is made with soft Nappa leather, satin lining with a cherry wood bottom. They have the yellow and brown version in the store.

It's great to see designers move away from canvas and plastics. Wood has become all the rage, even with cell phones. Mike Laut's has designed the Chute, bamboo cell phone. A fantastic sustainable product since bamboo is the fastest growing wood!

Warning: Street Closure
